I draghi barbuti sono legali in Canada??

Draghi barbuti, scientifically known as Pogona, are completely legal to own in Canada, including both British Columbia and Ontario.

Infatti, “beardies” are some of the most popular pet lizards, suitable for all ages, and there are generally no restrictions on owning them.

Bearded Dragons do not exceed a manageable size as adults, typically growing to a length of 40-60 centimetro. They are not venomous and pose no threat to their owners, unlike other species like Monitor lizards which are banned in some parts of Canada.

The most common species of Bearded Dragons in the pet trade in Canada include:

  • Central (or Inland) Draghi barbuti (Pogona vitticeps)
  • Eastern Bearded Dragons (Pogona barbata)
  • Rankin’s (or Lawson’s) Draghi barbuti (Pogona henrylawsoni)

Mentre it is legal to buy, own, razza, transport, and sell Bearded Dragons in Canada, they are considered an exotic species. This means they cannot be released into the wild under any circumstances.

Unlike Tegus, finding a Bearded Dragon breeder in Canada is relatively easy.

Tuttavia, as with any pet, you must do thorough research and understand the responsibilities involved before deciding to own a Bearded Dragon.

Ricordare, owning a pet is a long-term commitment and should not be taken lightly. Draghi barbuti, like all pets, deserve a loving and caring home and can live for up to 15 anni.

They require specific care and environments to thrive. Always ensure you’re prepared to provide the necessary care for these unique creatures.
